In pallet stretch film, the story is the emergence of thinner gauge
films that are just as strong as their thicker counterparts.
These are attractive from a source reduction standpoint, and
more cost effective. Thinner films are made possible by "marrying
advances in resins and extrusion technology".
Western Plastics offers stretch film in various strengths,
thickness and sizes for industrial applications. Stretch films
based on blends of LLDPE and other highly engineered polyethylene
resins allow gauge reductions of 10% - 50% over conventional
films with no sacrifice in strength. Applications include bundling
of industrial components, newspapers, magazines and palletized
goods.
